Love and Respect: Building Blocks of Marriage
Marriage can be a lot of fun….it can also be really challenging. So what makes the difference between those marriages that succeed and those that fail? How can a man give his wife the love she desires? How can a woman give her husband the respect he needs?
As we consider these questions and strive for a healthy marriage, we must turn to God’s Word for the answers. The Love & Respect seminar will point us to Ephesians 5:33 which states,
“Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.”
Husbands, love your wives; Wives, respect your husbands. In a recent survey, seven thousand people were asked, “When you’re in a conflict with your spouse or significant other, do you feel unloved in that moment or disrespected?” 83% of men said they feel disrespected. 72% of women said they feel unloved. The results of this survey clearly demonstrate the husband’s need for respect and the wife’s need for love.
I believe that we can strengthen our marriages this summer as we learn to better love and respect!
As Adults work their way through the Love & Respect Building Blocks of Marriage by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs, youth and children will have separate seminars where they will learn how to have healthy relationships and live with integrity within their families.
