“[Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.
And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation]. As it is written, He [the benevolent person] scatters abroad; He gives to the poor; His deeds of justice and goodness and kindness and benevolence will go on and endure forever! [Ps. 112:9.]”
2 Corinthians 9:6, 8-9 AMP
There are laws of the harvest that should help us understand how we should live, give and serve.
YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW. Duh, right? We've all heard this but it bears repeating. You are gonna get what you plant. You don't plant corn and hope that squash comes up. How can you expect a harvest of righteousness when you are scattering acts of unrighteousness?
YOU REAP LATER THAN YOU SOW. Another physical law of the harvest is that you sew and then you wait for the results. When you live, give or serve others the results do not sprout up right away. The results come weeks, months and sometimes, years after the act of sowing.
YOU REAP MORE THAN YOU SOW. You sow a seed of corn and you will get a stalk of corn with many ears and many seeds. The same is true with the righteous or unrighteous acts that you commit. You WILL reap more than you sow.
My friend, sow sparingly and you will reap sparingly. However, generously scattering seeds of kindness and righteousness will cause a great harvest to return to you. These laws work in the fields as they do in your home, in your business and in your church.
Maybe this has been your practice for sometime. If not, then start today to benevolently sow seeds of righteousness. Sow a thought - reap an action. Sow an action - reap a habit. Sow a habit - reap a life. Be careful what you sow.
