It's early in the morning on Saturday, halfway through our Global Impact Celebration 2017. Yes, I'd rather be sleeping. But I try to see my middle-of-the-night wakefulness as a chance to spend some very quiet time meditating on what is going on in my life. This week has included the death of a longtime friend. Yesterday I got to hug some necks and shake the hands of some of her family. I loved seeing how they were able to smile and laugh together sharing stories of her life and of their faith that she is in a better place. I am challenged to pray more and listen more and speak more with lost family, friends, neighbors, and strangers of the hope we have through Jesus Christ. I am enjoying my memories of Wednesday night's Neighbor's Night where we heard of some of what God has been doing here in our Jerusalem and of a new ministry He is beginning here. On Thursday night at the Center of Hope I saw how once again the very last people to walk through the door offered a unique way to be His hands and feet. Last night we shared in great fellowship as we heard details of Project 127. I am praying for guidance for how we can fit into this new exciting and challenging ministry. Now even as I look at the clock I am excited about the Mission Partners Panel Discussion this morning where I will see people I have not seen since last year's GIC. And Sunday when we gather as a church to celebrate together I know God will stir our hearts once more to do His work. I am so thankful He has challenged us to go beyond church walls to our Judea with the disaster relief teams, our Samaria in Baltimore and Portland/Vancouver, and even to the ends of the earth in the countries around the world where SABC people serve their Lord alongside career missionaries. How amazing that God would choose to use us! Lord, give me energy to carry out Your call on my life. Help me to know how you want me to give of my time, my money, my talents, and even my energy to serve you and bring you glory.
