Christie Mitchell - Kids Minister
Ministry Role & Responsibilities:
Hi! I’m Christie Mitchell and it is my joy and privilege to serve as the Kids Minister here at SABC! I love being a part of a church body that values every generation and seeks to encourage and support preschoolers and their families. We come alongside parents as a child’s spiritual foundation is being prepared and laid. We want to provide opportunities for preschoolers and their families to know and grow in their love and knowledge of our Lord through the Word of God. Most of all, we want to work together as a church family to encourage the transformation from that tiny bundle we bring home from the hospital to an adult who walks faithfully with the Lord!
About Me:
My husband, Rick, and I have been married almost 44 years. He is still my best friend and can always make me laugh--life with him is never boring! We have 3 beautiful children who have amazing spouses and we are about to welcome our 6th grandchild! When our youngest daughter began college, I also began serving as the preschool director after retiring from classroom teaching. God can call us to something new at any point in life and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to serve Him in this capacity and work with an incredible staff and wonderful volunteers!
Fun Facts:
I’ve never met a cookie I didn’t like (#sweet tooth)! I love biographies of missionaries!
Favorite Scripture:
I’m not sure I have just “one” but I love Ephesians 3:20 because we serve an AMAZING God!
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
