This page exists to highlight our mission efforts - from local opportunities to serving throughout the globe! We encourage everyone to GO on mission right here in Panama City, as it is our primary mission field. We also send several teams a year to be a light for Christ somewhere in the world. We use the Acts 1:8 missions model to mobilize our people for Kingdom Impact.

MISSIONS THROUGH SMALL GROUPS
|
Every Small Group in our church has a Missions Coordinator (MC) that helps keep the mission’s heartbeat going strong. Every month or so, the MC’s receive a list that highlights needs of 10-12 of our local mission partners. These could be services needed for their ministries (painting, food service, repairs, etc.), or tangibles needed like food, clothing, hygiene items, and more. Our classes then individually choose how many times a year they will serve, and which organizations they would like to partner with to better equip them for ministry.

Go Day
|
Twice a year our church participates in GO DAY. In the fall for GO DAY, we don’t just come to church, we GO and be the church in our community. We partner with Lucille Moore Elementary School by helping their Resource Closet and Backpack Feeding Program. In the past, SABC donated enough goods to cover their Weekend Backpack food needs for an entire school year! In the spring, we partner with Barnabas Charities to provide about 30,000 prepacked meals to somewhere in the world that has been affected by war, disaster, or famine.

YEAR-ROUND OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
|
We have a great group of volunteers who help make our partnership with Samaritan’s Purse and their Operation Christmas Child program incredibly effective. We have a team year round that collects, organizes, promotes and plans events to make our November collection a huge success. SABC has several events a year where people can come and pack shoe boxes that will end up going all around the world. We also send a group to Atlanta to help pack at a major distribution center in early December.

LATIN MINISTRY
|
We have a Spanish and Portuguese speaking Small Group on Sunday mornings for Bible study, and a Wednesday night class that helps with ESL (English as a Second Language) learning. We also offer a translation service in worship where Spanish and Portuguese-speaking people can hear the message translated in real time.
|
We also have three local ministries that our church launched, but now operate on their own. However, we’d like to highlight them for you to see!

ST. ANDREW CHRISTIAN CARE CENTER
God has blessed and expanded His work by allowing us to become one of the largest food pantries in the county, providing food and clothing to hundreds of people each week. We give generously, without any bias or prejudice in any area of age, imparity, color, nationality, gender or religion. None of our workers receive any monetary compensation or salary…. all serve for the joy of helping others.

A SHELTERING TREE
In November of 2001, God began the ministry of A Sheltering Tree, a pregnancy care ministry. This was a much-needed community help group for girls and women needing help with pregnancy and supplies for babies. A Sheltering Tree ministers to hundreds of women each year, providing them with a safe and confidential place in their time of need. We provide supplies and services at no charge to the clients.

DISASTER RELIEF
The mission of Florida Baptist Disaster Relief and Recovery Ministries is to “Make a difference” in times of disaster by connecting Florida Baptist Churches and Associations to people and communities impacted by disaster and by responding with Help, Healing, and Hope, that demonstrates and shares the love of Christ.
MANHATTAN
|
Our partnership with a NAMB Church start in Manhattan began in the summer of 2023. Located in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood, One Community Church reaches into New York City with the love of Christ in new and innovative ways. Our church sends teams to serve alongside One Community Church and participates with them in community feeding programs, homeless ministry, park outreach, church events, and more. If you enjoy post-Christian environments for missions, this trip is for you!

COSTA RICA
KENYA
|
Our church partners with “The Lighthouse for Christ” in Mombasa, Kenya to make a long-standing impact by physically building churches. A team of 5 goes every other year to provide the physical labor, and our church funds the build. Each congregation that has a church built for them has certain history and standards they must achieve, and follow up with the missionaries is strong and consistent.

SOUTH ASIA
Once a year we send a team to South Asia with FAMM (For All Mankind Movement) to work with local pastors in the area and share Jesus through “home parties”. Pastors and church members invite unbelieving friends and family to come “meet the Americans” and hear a little about us. FAMM trains all its mission trip volunteers in “storying” where each person learns to tell something from their life, link it to a general Bible story, then link that to the gospel story.
